A Texas nurse is accused of sexually abusing an infant at a nursing home, police said Wednesday.
A second infant was also allegedly sexually abused.
The suspect, who has not been identified, was taken into custody Wednesday.
Police said the two were sexually abused by a woman and a man at the Belmont Nursing Home in Hidalgo County.
The child is not believed to be in immediate danger.
The nursing home was not immediately available for comment.
Hidaldo County Sheriff’s Lt.
John Tovar said the allegations involve a nursing facility, not a hospital.
He said the nursing home had a history of violence and harassment.
The Hidalforce-area hospital and two other facilities are also part of the investigation.
HPD officers have been at the nursing homes since early this month, investigating a rash of injuries to residents.
A nurse was arrested last week after allegedly groping an 18-month-old boy.
The boy was hospitalized with what the sheriff said was a “severe injury” to his lower leg.
