The Woodhaven Nursing Home in Woodhaven, Tenn., will close for the new owners of the facility, the Tennessee Department of Human Services announced Friday.
The nursing home will close after five years, but residents of the Woodhaven Home will remain housed at the facility until the end of the 2020-2021 fiscal year, the department said.
The nursing homes are a partnership between the Tennessee Health Department and the Tennessee Community Care and Services Commission.
They were built in 1959 and have served more than 9,000 residents since.
The department said the nursing homes had been in operation for nearly a century, and that many of the residents had received care for decades.
The Wood Havens were designed to care for the elderly and the frail.
