New Jersey nursing homes are set to begin opening in Lakeview, Camden, New Brunswick and Newark, according to the Associated Press.
The state will not begin accepting residents until next month, though it has approved a $6 million loan for the project.
Lakeview, the first nursing home in New Jersey, opened in 2012 and is now home to more than 1,500 patients.
The state’s other two nursing homes, in Newark and Camden, opened last year.
The nursing homes will offer residents more advanced treatment, such as specialized treatment for people with Alzheimer’s disease and complex chronic illnesses, according the AP.
The first two nursing houses opened in 2014 and 2017, respectively.
The three New Jersey facilities are currently the only four facilities that provide residents with specialized care for chronic illnesses.
The Associated Press first reported on the plan.
