Cuomo Nursing Homes in Toronto will open its doors to the public for a day starting today.
The facility has been undergoing renovations to ensure its safety and wellbeing.
A new, high-tech automated care home is in the works.
(CBC)The facility is the first in what is expected to be a new generation of care homes that are being rolled out across the country.
Cuomo said the facility will also be able to accommodate up to 10 patients.
It will have an automated facility, and it will have a new, higher-tech, care home where the patient will be monitored 24/7.
“We will be able operate with the capacity of the average family,” said Andrea Luschini, executive director of Cuomo.
She said the home will be equipped with an infirmary that is designed to accommodate patients that need special care.
The new facility is being built by a group of companies including KPMG, the private medical insurance company, and a subsidiary of Toronto-based health care services firm HCA, the health care giant that also operates the city’s medical homes.
The Cuomo facility is not the first of its kind.
Other facilities have opened in Ontario and other provinces.
Cuomos facility will be a home for people who need more care than they are used to, said KPMGs senior vice president for corporate development.
The facility will open at 6 a.m. today and will be open seven days a week for the first two weeks, before closing.
It will be staffed by a certified nursing aide who will provide services, including medical assessments, and will also provide supervision, including ensuring patients are comfortable.
The staff will also take care of their personal belongings and belongings will be taken from patients to the home.
The nursing home will also have a kitchenette and dining area.
Cuoms health and safety team is looking for qualified applicants to help oversee the renovations and make sure the facility stays safe, said Lusinelli.
The company also has a program to help pay for its renovations.
The company is accepting applications online until Aug. 19, 2018.
