— A woman who was shot in her chest at a nursing home in Medford says she was just doing her job when the shooting happened.
Natalie L. Kupfer said she was helping a woman with a heart attack when she was shot on Oct. 8, 2018, and was treated and released from the hospital.
She’s back home and recovering, she said.
Kupfer, who’s 30, said she and her family were living in Medfield when the incident occurred.
“It’s very scary, it’s very frightening.
You just never want to leave the house.
We’re still in shock,” Kupffer said.
“We just want to go home, but it’s hard to do.”
Medford Police said in a news release that they responded to a call of a shooting around 1:30 p.m. in the area of the Lincolns Nursing Home.
They said a person who was a patient at the nursing home was taken to Medford General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made.
